so were are yo measuring from then? i dont see were the other measurements are coming from, are you measuring on the master cylinder?

yes, master cylinder bore diameter.

If you look at the hydroboost master cylinder it will have the numbers cast into the side of it telling you and anyone else its a 1 5/16 bore. Same with the 1 1/8 and 1 1/16... The 1 5/16 bore has a much larger vesivour on it too.

The number we're referring to, and the measurement everyone is basing this on, is cast onto the side of the MC, as Gary says. I'm actually not sure what that measurement refers to, but it is clearly there, and that is their usually referenced name. You can see it cast near the 3 wire connector in the picture below.

ok so the stamped number on the master cylinder is 1 1/4 witch i know is just about 1 5/16 very close to it, thanks for informing me on what measurement to go buy

Well last nite I went surfing ebay for a 1 5/16 F450 master cylinder. Only found one but... I found a 1 3/8.. And a 1 1/2 inch bore master cylinder. Who would have known there were any larger than the 1 5/16. I learned something I think...
