I know this for a fact. I have a fresh t stat and ford clutch fan. It will engage at 245* and that is using a real mech temp gauge at the back of the block. When it engages it will pull the motor down to almost 180*. The truck will pull hard all the way up thru 245* (this is running 65-75 mph, 3k rpm) . Though oil pressure does drop a little bit at that temp, till it cools down and comes right back up. That is with an AC condenser, and intercooler, with a non vented bumper. The intercooler does cover the entire radiator.

Would electric fans help? IDK it runs around 200-220 depending on the grade etc. It runs normal, to I cannot tell any difference on power for when the fan is engaged vs not.
