Who here has the highest mileage IDI??? I'm talking stock, heads never been off.....Mine has 408,000km.....Hasn't been apart according to the original owner.....Runs great and doesn't use any oil....I'm kina surprised as it hardly makes a puff of smoke at startup either....The E40D might be original too. It was used mostly for towing a 5th wheel travel trailer by a retired guy. **** about servicing all the fluids every year he was.

My '85 had 445k miles on the 6.9 before it gave up. That was mostly all heavy towing miles. If the truck is moving it almost always has a trailer hooked to it. It spent years moving horses and bulls, then pulling a 3 car wedge, now it mostly pulls 5th wheels and a '32 triaxle gooseneck. The 6.9 probably would of lasted longer but I ingored a few issues while trying to make a few trips.

BigRig, I've got 391k km showing when the odometer let go. It's at 400k+ right now, and it still runs great!

Mine runs awesome....Other than one thing.....It only happens when I try it start it cold....It kicks 2 or 3 times before it starts....This is a recent thing, only started in the last week or so....Works A-1 after that.

Just sold a 90 with 400,000miles on it and im sure it would have gone many more. Used only a quart between oil changes and very little smoke. I had original injectors in it!!!!!! IP done twice.

It sure comforts me to own an 84 with only 180,000km (canadian) and never been abused. Should last me many a years!!! Especially with my light right foot and bio blend.

447k miles, just replaced it due to cavitation. It was building compression in the cooling system, repalced the gaskets and it still did it. So, it went in the scrap pile. In case you didn't know, when your odometer hits 400,000 miles on the 92-97 trucks they bounce back down to 300k miles. That being said, the truck could have bounced for 400k more then once, and could have actually been 547k miles, I am not 100% sure, but i know it 400k at least one time under my watch.

Mines only at 180,000 so i geuss i'm good to go for i while yet.. A local towing buisness has a 88-91 f-450 rollback that had almost 475,000 on the 7.3 about a year ago when they towed my brother's broke dodge, and he said it was olmost completly origional other than regular maintnence and an ip and injector change. I still see the truck out towing almost every day so i'm geussing it's probly pushing 500,000 by now..

I am not sure on the engine, but I do know that Calvin has a F-450 rollback that has documented 890,000+ Chassis miles. He has commented all the tins have been replaced at least once, and I believe the engine has also..... If I am correct/incorrect he could be along shortly to set me straight.....
