I've heard it is simple, but I've seen it done by individuals who make it look complicated, I've got at least 3 of these to do real soon, I hope it is simple!

not to bad. just dont forget the bolt inside the door jam. 2 up by the hood, one on the bottom edge of the fender on the back, then the 2 front body mounts.

The hardest parts are the radiator support body mounts and some of the wiring. Otherwise its pretty straight forword.

What they said. reclipped an 85 to bricknose, and an OBS to slant nose... easy sleezy lemon peezy.

73-79 doesn't look fun though.

Pre 80 was the whole "Built Ford Tough" ad campaign.. this stuff from 80 up, ennh, a little weaker.

Grow fond of the 8mm. Find one you like. Also a stubby ratchet, pep boys AZ, etc. 1 degree clickage... makes life happier.

Napa, I just got this from Heath yesterday. Planning to pull mine soon.

To pull the Front Clip I did the following:
-Take a pencil or sharpie and mark the bolt locations for the hood, fenders, and the hood latch so they can got back in the same location on reassembly.
-Get some masking take and sharpie to label all hoses, wires, plugs, bolts and what not
-Get a box of sandwich bags to put bolts/nuts and label them. It makes reassembly a lot easier.
-Remove the hood (need a strong friend)
-Remove hood latch
-Remove the bumper
-Remove the batteries
-Remove the radiator
-Remove the fender to cab bolts on each side (two at top, one in door jam, one bottom of cab)
-Either remove the fender wells altogether or remove the shocks/shock towers.
-Unbolt the wiring panel from top of passenger's side fender well and wire tie it up away from the fender well.
-Remove any hoses/wires or other connections between the cab/frame and the front clip.
-Unbolt the clip from the two front body mounts. Keep all shims for each side and tape/tie them together.
-Get a strong friend
-Lift and move the front clip off the truck and sit on non-scratch surface (wood, thick cardboard).

Find yourself a good, solid hardwood tree that is rooted in there good.

Go to Lowes, and buy a good 20 - 50 foot length of 1/2 " rope good for AT LEAST 5000 pounds. The less rust you have, the longer the rope needs to be for a good run off.

Tie the rope to the tree, loop it through the driver side fender, across the rad support and out the passenger side fender and make a slip knot.

Back away from said rooted hardwood tree (4x4 if there is no rust) at a high rate of speed. Repeat 3 times.

If the truck is rusty, just use clothes line and a mailbox...

Lol. That s kinda how I removed one. Except I tied it to my truck and gave a goos pull to yank the rusted core support off. Works pretty good if you don't care about breaking anything.
