Holding the gp on button

Thanks for the advice knuckledragger. I will certainly be careful as to how long I will hold the button. I am choosing not to run 12volts through the fire wall. Instead I ran a switched ground though and used a fused 12v at the relay. See attached diagram.

Is there something wrong with the GP timer/controller on the truck? I know they fail sometimes, but it seems to me to be more work installing a momentary switch and relay than replacing the controller.

Yes. I have put 2 timers in this rig. This one turned on for about 15 seconds while the engine was warm and I was on the freeway. Each time they go bad its another set of plugs. It took only about 25 minutes to wire in and mount the switch. I am using the original gp relay. Went with the motorcraft plugs this time.
