I kind of like this turbo setup. I wonder how it performs? Could do duals this way. Then you would not need an exhaust crossover.

we thought about that for mine, duals , true duals, not compound, say t-3's off a Volv 240/740 gasser...oil and watercooled... set from Factory at 8 psi, easily moddable to 15ish, and seemingly the boost doesn't double that way, but the flow/volume does, which would be Ideal... Y pipe them into the IC, and then I pipe into the manifold.

grab a couple of different manifolds, I think we wanted two pass, backwards, so the shot straight up, or was it two drver.. pass would have created the need for an Elbow, and driver would shoot straight up.. Never went pass drinking a beer and looking at any one of the 3 6.9's on the shop floor.

Looks neat ;Sweet

But, why did you choose to run the turbo that way? Not down talking you or anything just wondering. I would think flipping it 180* where it mounts so the exhaust is at the back, would be easier for a downpipe.

What kind of turbo?

Air filter located in the rear might pick up too much heat.
Might want to try to route it to the front.

By the way, like that cat yellow.;Sweet

Nice. The yellow is going to confuse people though. I would have steered clear of it. Old "Pie Face Simmons" knew no different even without the paint. LOL

Maybe something to do with the direction of the Turbine. And the affordability of available turbo's to use. Either way there is enough room to funnel the 3 inch pipe out the drivers side inner fender and out the back under the body.

I started crying as soon as you said Caterpillar Yellow. Then I saw the pictures and I really like it. It's a unique setup and look. To hell with the confused people. Let them scratch their head and curse your name. Tell them its a "Ford CAT Harvester" and scramble their little brains.

Well, it might be John Deere yellow..ha. its whatever I had on the shelf. Besides a light colour brightens up everything under the hood.

Beautiful truck, and a great example of originalality on an envy enspiring project.
