Today is the day I reached 20,000 posts. I could not have done it without everyones help. I really had no designs on reaching any particular number and its continuing to build as I post. Its all about helping others. Not really reaching a milestone like this. Now the next seemingly unreachable milestone is something I can't imagine just yet. 25,000 or 30,000 is not something I feel is the unreachable goal. I think from now on its all reachable. Thanks everyone for the support in this goal. Its all done for you. My only wish is those that have left this forum could still be here. your all missed by me.

I was an avid reader about many different things. Mostly I like aviation ans space items from the early to current time. My grandfather flew the first plane in Cali from the then Griffith Park airport in 1912. Its now a well known park. I used to read Mechanics Illustrated and Popular Mechanics cover to cover. I did a college paper on Amelia Earhart.... She did not crash in the ocean but landed on an island and was captured by the Japanese. The Marines found pieces of her plane when we took Saipan. Funny how we are taught something in the history books and its all not true. I don't believe just anything I read. I need verification to everything I know from many different sources..

If you go to disneyland, you can see a bench from the griffith park carousel area and a horse in lincoln theater. I have some photos of my dad's father also taken at griffith park in the 40's?

Wow, that brought back some memories, I loved Mechanix Illustrated, Tom McCahill's articles were the best. Both Popular Science and Mechanics were good back then too. After McCahill passed away MI changed to Home Mechanix which was pretty lame then it fizzled away. Both Popular Science & Mechanics are pretty small and boring today.
