Well, I got my receiver hitch installed on my truck. I wanted to use the one off the parts truck, but it would have put the stinger hanging out though where the license plate is because of having the deep drop bumper on this truck. I picked up the receiver tube for $11.99 (already drilled for pin and everything), but needed to find someone with a big enough amperage welder to weld it onto the bottom of my bumper (the bumper is rated for 10,000# of towing and 1,000# tounge weight). I got it welded on and the guy even built up the two gussets for added strength for $30!;Sweet Here are pics of the hitch. I towed with it last night and loved it. Using a drop hitch, the trailer tows much more level, and backing up is alot nicer even though it only set the ball back about 6". I'm mainly happy because it is so much easier to change out between a 2" and a 2 5/16" ball now.

Modern technology is so nice, isn't it?!

I'm just glad that I found a guy that wanted to add to extra bracketry. Everyone else just wanted to run a weld on each side of the tube and call it good.cookoo:eek: I got a heck of a deal for the work he put iinto it, and he's going to weld up my custom front bumper after I get all the metal cut and ready. I ended up bringing home a 4'x6' piece of 1/4" thick diamond plate steel and going to use it for a front bumper. I'm going to cut the pieces and tack weld it all together and then he's going to weld it all and mount it on the truck. I need to clean up the back bumper and reciever tomorrow and shoot it with some fresh spray paint.

I'll have to get a pic of my rear bumper sometime... I was rummaging around my grandparent's house where my dad kept all of his old cars, and low-an-behold, there was a beast of a bumper made from 8" C-channel, with 1/2" thick runners where it connects to the frame, and 3/4" plate with gussets for the flat plate to put the trailer ball on. I have pity for anyone who rear-ends me! :rotflmao

I' still need to notch it out where my 2" receiver becomes usable in the "flipped up" position, but that will come later...
