Getting harder to start. Slow cranks then faster cranks.

Great pictures, I installed the same starter on my boys truck. It made it really easy that the engine was hanging from a chain LOL

Here is to hoping that now his engine is back in his starter has a looooonnnnngggg life and we don't have to deal with removing it out while in the truck!

Not to hi Jack this thread but why start another thread.

I’m experiencing a similar problem that just started happening.

My batteries could be reading 13.1volts and it’s still slow to crank and stays slow. The alternator outputs 13.4volts above idle when measured across the batteries.

The terminals are all tight. Next step is to check the grounds and connections. Maybe some leaking oil is interrupting a poor ground.

I’m using a schumacher 250amp battery charger to aid in turning over but it isn’t doing much either.

How are your battery cables themselves? Try getting under the truck while someone cranks the engine and check for voltage drop at the starter. If that’s good, then I’d get a new starter. Like you read earlier in the thread, this was the fix for both me and Selahdoor.
