British design I believe, used by a few European car makers.
P unit was only used on the volvo in production.
GV units were modified from the European versions.
GV supposedly bought all the remaining rights of the laycock unit.
I mailed maximum-overdrive, he's checking on shipping costs and is willing to sell me parts (at least it looks like it)
btw: thanks for pointing me to GKN. It looks like there are more informations to find for GKN than GV (sorry if this sentence is messed up, you know I'm a german guy )
Dose this surface look okay i had the same exact problem with it only slipping in revers but theres still friction material on both sides of the cone clutch but the planetary gear side has hot spots
As long as it is still smooth, discoloring not going to affect anything. See if you can get a new clutch and seals from https://www.maximum-overdrive.com/ He is a part time vendor so it may take a few attempts.
