I spent a year driving a DT466 with an Allison. Definitely not exciting or zippy like an Isuzu but got the job done. Might be ok for a decked studded high rpm high fuel monster.

this one was free. .60 compressor and 1.15 turbine on this one
The ar is pretty close to the 1st. gen Banks non wg. turbo at .60 compressor and 1.0 turbine, 10-12 lbs. boost max but doesn't really spool until 1200-1400 rpm in stock form.
You could talk to Russ (aka typ4) about the possibility of a compressor mod like he does on the non wg. Banks.

They Hypermax turbos for our trucks use a 1.15 exhaust housing so I dont see that as a problem. A little tighter does help if you want quicker spool though. What are the specs on the turbo? Specifically what is the inducer size on the compressor wheel?
inducer is 57mm technically 56.47mm.

I'd say run it then. I can't remember the exact specs on the stock Hypermax turbo, but I believe they were around a 57mm inducer. Don't quote me on that though. If you install it and decide you want a quicker spool up there are tighter exhaust housings available. And yes typ4 does have the ability to machine it out for a larger compressor wheel. That being said at that point he is usually going to be doing a rebuild too.
