Fuel pump question

On a mechanical fuel pump which hose fitting is the output? Is it the front or the rear?










1984 F250 6.9, 4x4, 4 speed tranny, pushbutton GP system, no soup bowl

There should be a line running up to the filter. On mine its a hard line. That would be the output.

I'm guessing he doesn't have the lines connected, so that may not help. I'm going by memory, but I think it is the forward most one, or the one to the right if you are looking streight at the connectors.

The connector that is a flare fitting. That goes to the hard line that goes to the filter.
