150 miles extra I am now able to drive before refueling. 550 miles from both tanks combined.
I'm sure most of you guys have done the modification but to the people who haven't its definitely worth your time more so than money due to it being so cheap.

This forum has figured out this easy repair. Sadly its hard to drop the rear tank. So much has to be done to drop it. then once its free of the rig remember its got at least 1/4 tank of diesel moving all over this tank making it nearly impossible to balance the tank. Now once you have dropped the tank and have it open please... Remove all the fuel before you try to reinstall it. Then pour that 5 plus gallons back in the tank and enjoy the loner ride to the next fill up. After I did mt mods to both tanks the wifey took over driving in Kengman Az on 2 full tanks. She drove till she passed Gallup New Mexico without stopping to refill. I happened to wake up after Gallup and asked where we were. When she told me I about messed my pants. We stopped in to refill at the Giant. Anyone that has driven I40 knows of the Giant fuel stop. We took on 34 gallons. These were the stock fuel tanks.

Holy cow! You guys were one shallow incline from sucking air.. It happened to me on a local bridge when I forgot to switch tanks in time- morning rush hour, I was a despised motorist for a while that morning.

The rear tank fell right out for me. Just a little bit of movement and it slammed right down. With that being said my spare tire is in my bed so I didn't have to mess with that. Just 4 bolts and get your head out of the way.

Lucky you did not break off the lines to the tank. they are fastened tight to the frame cross rail just in front of the differential. Cut loose the ties so you have more room to move the lines.
