Can you mix atf in yer wmo? I plan on addin my wmo in straight @ approximately 20% with diesel.. So my vdub has a 10 gallon tank, and i only run it down to 4 gallons, then I'll fill 2 gallons wmo and 4 straight diesel from the pump.

So Is it OK to mix about 5 gallons of atf in with my 45 gallons of wmo?

Welcome. Where in Richmond do you live? I'm in ashland.

I see no problem mixing transmission oil with motor oil. In fact it might even run better. Every time I change a fuel filter I fill the new one up with ATF

Im a newbie to at this but i found out that when i put the filterd oil in the tank with the diesel. it slightly clogges the mesh pickup filter. but i have dual tanks so i just switched the tanks back and forth till it sucked it threw.. I plan on mixing it be4 I put the next batch in.

Something else is causing the problem or your oil is not clean.

Chesterfield County.. Dude I'll have to come by and check yer filter situation out!

To filter, I'm running a "preliminary " cut off and sewn up jeans leg into a 55 gallon drum, then thru a 1 micron bag filter. Turns out the jeans leg is takin forever! Must be a 5 micron pair of jeans!

Edit: jeans filter is about 25 minutes per gallon.

Turns out I must have gotten bad quality wmo.. The goat vomit clogged my jeans filter up after just 10 gallons. First batch looks like it's gonna be a failure

have you guys tried thinning the WMO with diesel before you filter it to make it filter faster? thats what i do, Seems to be working fine, I was taking about 20 minutes to filter a gallon. Now i can add some diesel and it filters much quicker. I dont run straight WMO anyway, just mixing prior to filtering instead of after filtering.

Yes Id ALWAYS recommend mixing before filtering/fuging. Try Kerosene vs. Diesel. It's much drier and will get you closer to the right viscosity as compared to Diesel

A large percentage of my Diesel is actually Jet fuel. its VERY dry. thins the oil out nicely. I run 2 gallons of WMO to 3 gallons fo JET when i can get it. Sometimes i used diesel. great point tho, Just kerosene is not readily available in the deep south.

what happens is that the fuel filter light will come on for a short bit and try to stall the motor after a few miles and switching it back and forth between the two tanks it doest have the prob any more. For filtering I runn it threw a five gal 100 micron bucket strainer then gravity filter threw 25 micron,10 micron, and 1 micron filter into a 35 gal plastic drum. I just thought it was suckin straight oil in the lines for a few sec. but now I have been adding the kerro and diesel in the drum and mixing. Mixed 12 gal diesel,10 gal wmo, 2 gal kerro, 1 gal 2 cyl mixed gas. Plus what ever is in the fuel tank thats left over.

How's your lift pump? Try and get a fuel pressure gauge on your filter head and see what you have.
