I want to get better fuel economy out of this truck what auto transmission could I use on it?
I'd like to make it manual but don't know what other parts I would need or which tranny would bolt up to it.
Help please

Put your truck in your Sig so we know what Trans engine etc you have. I'm assuming you have a C6 Automatic.
if you want to keep it an automatic then the E4OD is your best bet but you need a computer to run it.
if you want a manual than the ZF5 is the best option.

Diesel zf started in 88. Maybe some rare 87's.
I would go all out and run a standalone trans computer.

Or you could add a gear vendors over drive and only really need to shorten your drive shaft, that way you have a bullet proof drive train, with no electronic crap to go wrong.

Is your truck 2wd or 4wd? I have a 2wd overdrive box that will bolt directly on a c6 but you will have to shorten the driveshaft

Is this truck 3.5 geared or 4.11? If 3.5 ratio, the mpg improvement may be very small.
