My truck has always had electrical issues that I have never been able to fix. Whenever it is raining hard, the truck decides to have issues. Most of the time the truck will only cut on the cd player and jam out in the rain; however, during the last rain storm, the truck apparently got scared and wanted to drive to somewhere else. As I was walking out to my truck to cut off the stereo, the truck started to turn over. I quickly disconnected the batteries, but not soon enough (took a little over a min). This killed the starter. Replaced the starter with a good one, but the truck will still not start up. Replaced the stater solenoid on top of the engine, but the engine will still not turn over. I can hear the solenoid click when I position the key to the start position, but nothing else happens. I am not sure how I am suppose to hook up the wires to the starter solenoid because it is oriented different than the old one. The way I currently have it hooked up is wire A (12 gauge wire that has 12 volts when the key is in the on position) attached to the S side of the solenoid. Wire B (12 gauge wire that has no volts reguardless of key position) connected to the I side, and then the battery wire is connected to one post and the other wires are connected to the other post. When the key is in the on position, 10.8 volts go to the S side, I side, and the other post; while, the battery post maintains the 12 volts. The odd part is the S post, I post, and the other wires will retain the 10.8 volts even when the key is off and removed. I am totally confused and cannot find any wiring diagram for my truck. If someone could show me where to get a wiring diagram for the key to the starter or inform me what I should check, I would be most appreciative.
(BTW I know the starter is good and the engine has the ability to crank over.)
