will a 1986 6.6 liter ford diesel swap with a 1992 F350 7.3 diesel

If you mean a 6.9 liter diesel, yes it will. There is minor differences, but the general big stuff is the same.

If that is not a typo, and you are referring to the Ford / New Holland 6.6L "Brazilian" inline 6, then the answer is a hard no. It may possibly physically fit in the engine bay, but everything will have to be modified, fabricated, or changed. Exhaust, fuel, transmission, engine mounts, radiator, etc.

No I was referring to the 6.6 ford diesel that was used I beleive in the F600 Just saw one and was wondering if you could to a swap I have a 1992 F350 with a &.3 Idi and the motor that I saw was a straight 6 diesel 1986 model with a turbo.

Thanks I didn't think it would without major mods but wasn't sure.

Its a long engine. Approx 4" longer than a 6BT cummins if i remember correctly.

Of course when I read "6.6" I thought of a 400 gas engine. At least I'm pretty sure that's what Pontiac called them in the later 70's. And for those who don't know, the "Pontiac 400" engine of the mid to late 70's were actually Oldsmobile 402s (403? somewhere around there).

Lots of 6.6L engines made.... Ford, dodge, chevy (sbc & bbc), pontiac, olds, buick. Mitsubishi diesels too.

The 403 Olds firebird sounds like a 78/79+ thing to backfill as the pontiac motor was phased out.
