Anybody have an idea of what engine this may be? Says 6.9 however many things throw that off, at least idi anyhow...especially that inline 8 cyl pump:sly

its a Direct injection International motor fromm what i can see. Doesnt look like a 7.3 or 6.9 to me becasue fo the pump, But then again, it might be a different pump.

Take my input with a grain of salt. I am still relatively new to the IDI world.

It is a 9.0 liter IIRC, large international v8, fuel hog pos also. Medium duties and some school bus use. Military used LOTS of them in trucks.

That's not a 6.9 IDI. It is an IH 9.0L. It was produced from '83-'87, NA only, and power ratings were 165 or 180HP.

Think you may be right.... http://fourtrucks.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=23_38&products_id=167

Also i wonder how interchangeable the front pumps are between the 9.0's and the 6.9-7.3's? it wouldn't hurt me to have one layin arouud for experimental use:sly

P.O.S ? maybe however allot of people think 6.9-7.3's are crap too..That being said its still an international and im sure its well built..may just need some tender lovin ideas...but 2,200.00 whew....ill pass for now

I am right,:sly and it is not well built, they did this engine to compete with the 8.2 detroit and 3208 cat. all 3 are thowaways.

Now fitting the pump would be fun, but inline pumps are usually fixed advance and would be ******* fuel economy.
