I'm looking at these band heaters for 55 gallon drums and even the ones with no thermostat cost at bast about $80.00 does anyone have a way to get 50 odd gallons of oil in a drum to about 150 degrees that costs less?

I have been using a overly sized water heater element (220V) that I welded a bung on the side of the drum and screwed it in there.

i got a friend at work that makes bio diesel, and he uses a standard residential water heater, he just plumbs it directly into his 55 drum and runs a 110v motor with pump to curculate it.
