e4od fluid path ?

I just ran my trans lines and want to make sure I have them hooked up correctly . The rear most line is fluid OUT , and the front line is fluid IN , correct ?

Sorry for the stupid question .. couldn't find it searching .

Wow .. I don't even know what to say . The mess I was laying in was so bad I had to throw away my work clothes .. Now I get to crawl back in the filth tomorrow..

That sucks, however what is the hard part? I haven't done the job, is it the little clips? Just picturing mine from memory it seems like a straight shot from the passenger side up to the rad where it tags the coolers.

Are you in a position to fill the transmission and crank it over with the lines disconnected just to verify fluid flow?

I thought it would be an easy , quick job .. but for some reason it took forever . All I had to do was bend new lines and hook it all up . I think my problem is that I was a little ocd about bending them . It was also pouring , I forgot the cooler was full of fluid so it puked all over me , and .. I'm just being a baby . I have less and less drive to work on it so even little things feel like a LOT .


I'll swap them tomorrow . I'm sure you're right , no need to test. I still need to do some things to it before it can be spun over anyway .

Why would it matter if it went through the cooler in one direction or the other, is there a check valve?

The rear line is the return and at the trans there is a check vlave. Its there to keep the torque converter from drining down when you stop the engine. Not a safe way to continue to start a truck either with a drained converter.

I'm going to run the front line to the cooler , through the filter , then back to the rear line . It's currently ran the opposite .

You can run the filter before the cooler. Placement is optional.

As a rule of thumb.

New cooler old tranny, place the filter pre cooler.
New tranny old (flushed) cooler, place the filter post cooler.
