I can't get a socket onthe driver side exhaust manifold bolt that is closest to the firewall. I tried every possible combination of socket, extension and flex joint. I'm starting to think that maybe my driver side engine mount is not where it should be, allowing the engine to be too close to the firewall??

here is a pic -does this look closer than it is supposed to be?

Nope... But your cab mounts are shot to hell. The cab is down on the motor now. What you can do is remove the motor mount and reach the manifold easier. Just use a jack under the oil pan rail and not the bottom of the pan... You will dent the pan and the oil pump pickup is only about 1/8 inch from the pan. Next time toy drain the oil stick something up in the drain hole and feel how close things are... Its kinda scarry close.....
