well, I was thinkin' maybe an arm and a leg....but then I remembered that I'd be sending those to you anyway.... :D

I'll send ya another email Brady....

Anyone know if LUK makes a kit that will work with the stock DMF ?

It'd be great to be able to use that nice multi-finger PP of theirs and their spring-loaded disc, with the stock DMF...

Richard

Richard,

Pepboys does carry Luk replacement clutch kits. Mine ran $200.00 with the guvners share. :backoff
Can't recall the part numbers as I just tossed the box a couple of weeks ago...sorry.
But yes they do. ;Sweet

hey Ron, thanks for the word.

So the LUK kit you got was for the stock DMF ?

And the disc -was- the spring-loaded one?

And the PP was the one with approx 20 little fingers?

cool....

The regular Sachs kit is 160-170, so I wouldn't mind springing another 20 for the LUK...

Got it on the now parked Beef. I had to resort back to the DMF as the trans is on its' last legs and is now a lawn ornament. :rotflmao

"dawt" came to me while I was on Pirate....where derisive comments about "fawking newbies" are pretty common... :D

My wife just dropped it at Fedex, I think it'll show up Thursday, I'll email the estimated delivery date when my wife gets home this evening.

Brady kindly shipped me the DMF 'on inspection', and I have a couple questions for you DMF experts...

1) the rotational free-play feels like it's hitting something hard at the end of the travel....it doesn't feel like it's bumping against springs. Is that simply because the springs are so stiff ?? i.e. is this a normal/proper 'feel' ??

2) with the DMF sitting with the clutch surface facing up; I can press down on two opposing sides of the upper-half and rock it back and forth...i.e., the edges are going up and down....i.e., that center-bearing is allowing this motion. Is this supposed to be totally tight/preloaded?? If not, how -much- rocking motion/travel is "in spec" ??

3) In terms of the springs etc. on the back-side, is there anything to look for in a visual inspection?

thanks much guys!

1) that's normal

2)never checked it like that. but real doubtful that its an issue.

3)look for shinny spots on the spring where it "may" contact the secondary flywheel from the rotation.

For someone who wants dirt cheap....you are one picky SOB. cookoo If the rotational play is within spec, throw the ***** in and be done.
