tonight, towing my buddys car to the paint shop,
I dropped boost and instantly heard a high speed ticking noise.

popped the hood to find my air cleaner disassembled on the inner fender well.
didn't have as much as a crescent wrench on me.
FAIL #1
called a buddy from around the corner(thankfully I was local/ loco)
I need to get a small tool box rounded up for the truck.

tools got there, and I pulled my intake tube off to find a boot that reduced the air filter, 4" to the intake tube which is 3.5"
I have a clamp on the air cleaner but none on the boot to the intake tube.
FAIL #2

popped the intake tube off the turbo, and theres the reduction boot....

making sweet love to my wicked wheel.
wicked wheel is shot.
atleast 4 bent veins.

pics of carnage tomorrow...

CLAMP EVERYTHING.
KEEP CHECKING YOUR RIGS.
THINGS DO COME LOOSE!!

in my case it was the loose nut behind the wheel

Sweet 1960! You don't see many of those around. In fact, I can't ever remember seeing a lot of those around. :)

To bad about the turbo trouble. Doh!

THE NEW AND IMPROVED WICKED WHEEL III !!
microballanced for those who like to free rev their IDI's to 4500 rpms.
this wheel is specially designed for more boost and better spool.
it will also give you a more of a complete burn due to the swirl pattern the veins create.
not only will it boost and spool better, but it actually increases fuel consumption!
it also acts like a wastegate for your pistons at designated RPM!

BUT WAIT THATS NOT ALL!!!
if you order now, we will throw in a free dwarf star that has a 3 planet solar system..
ABSOUTELY FREE!

I GOTTA PUT IT ON EBAY NOW! LOL

Sorry Brian but that really sucks. Might suggest looking in the intake air horn for bits and pieces of the rubber. I just hope you kept the screen over this area.

I did! I have not opened it up yet.
it only rubbed against the wheel for about 1/4 mile until I was able to pull over.
I will check tomorrow when I replace the wheel.

I have not been paying attention to the pyro.
super light driving, and not getting on it.
I did notice that it got to 900 one time when the WG actuator fell off the WG.
but that's the highest ive seen it.
