If/when I swap a F series I'm doing a DT360. I don't mind cummins swaps, I just don't want to follow the crowd so much.

Other Diesel engines: Cats (not that great in the size range we are talking about, 3126/C7, 3208), Perkins, John Deere, and many more.

A 8.3 6bta is also something I'm interested in. Those are beasts....

I am going to revive a 671 this Sunday. Been sitting since 2001. If it runs, I may buy the truck as a fun side toy to fix up

We run a Cat C7 (7.2L) in the big truck I drive at work and I'm none too impressed.
If a company is paying for the work/ parts I don't mind a Cat but if it were on me I'd get a Detroit.

Yes no other sound like a 2 stroke detroit.....but the only bad thing is you have to run the rack on them ever so often and if you don't know what your doing....well it will run away. Use a 6v53 lighter and more doable

Ok. In going to come out and say it. I prefer the sound of a turbo'd IDI, International DT or a 6BT (or a big can Cummins and PACCAR MX series engines). The green leakers at WOT sound like heavy cammed gassers

That's just me though.
