The wiper switch in my '88 has 3 positions - OFF, LOW, and HI.

I have another one from an '84 (or thereabouts) that has the same harness connector but also has a "black box" T'eed into the wiring between the switch and the connector. Is this a delay wiper switch and will it work in place of my simple switch configuration?

Regards,

It might, that is a delay box for the 80-86 trucks(I converted my 85 to delay). If the plugs are the same it should work. I would try and connect it to see what happens. You will need to change out the switch as well, since it allows the knob to rotate both ways.

Plug and play, there is a black ground wire that needs to be grounded so the box will function. also the solder joints get loose in the delay box, easy fix to resolder.

The harness from your existing switch plugs into one side of the delay box, the other plugs into the delay wiper switch, ground the one wire, and you have delay wipers, just that easy.
