cummins upgrades ?

hay yall Im thinking of didchin my 03 hemi and getting a 99-01 cummins 2500 4X4 manual trany. I would like to push some good hp/trq like maybe 400or so hp/550-700trq but still be able to pull atleast a car trailer on the weekends and drive a good amount. And make my own biodiesel. Any info would help and thanks.

and your good to go...youll probably would be better off getting an H.O. model with the 6 spd, that way you wont have to upgrade the input shaft

youll also need some bigger exhaust too...a 4" downpipe with maybe 5" straight pipe...thatd keep the egt's down a little

You won't need a Smarty to make 400 hp..
A set of 80hp injectors, Edge Comp or a Edge Juice.
Get a South Bend CON OFE clutch.
You won't need an input shaft at those power levels.
At 400 hp you'll be closer to 850-900 ft lbs of torque.
Oh yea, you'll probably need a upgraded turbo if you tow alot with it.

Thanks for yall's help. It is so nice haveing not to do any or little motor work to get the power we can get but what if any motor work should be done and I here yall talkin about gettin the heads O ringed? What turbo do yall suggest for that power and I'm glad that I shoud be pushin more trq than I thought with thoes up grades. I plan to put a water inj. on it to help keep it cooler unles yall think thats a bad idea. I would like to latter put a Twin Turbo on it to get like 1200trq but thats all crap in one hand and wish in the outher and see witch one fills up faster.

Hypertech

What years can you get the 6speed H.O.? What do yall think about Hypertech the one that has the touch screen with its owen dyno, 1/4 mil track setup, Diagnostics, Gauges, and performance tuning or could I use that with the eadg and outher stuff.

IMHO, Hypertech is not as good as some of the other programmers that have been around for a while. Edge makes very good products. A smarty is good idea also, however, shifting can get very jerky. The power comes on very quick.
Keep in mind, there have been many that have complained about issues with the 6spd trans. I believe most issues are from guys banging through the gears like they would a Mustang. These trans weigh about 400 lbs and are not race trans. so don't expect them to be.

i live in a town with about 15+ modded rams...
edge is the way to go, buddy of mine runs an edge drag box with a smarty and a southbend clutch...its super mean...but he's gouing to be putting in injectors before too long. everyone runs 6 spd trans with no problems at all.
you wont NEED a smarty...but why not

I have been dooin some lookin around and what do yall think about this.
1st $639 Fass with filters. or do I need the setup with the filters?
2nd Clutch from CON OFE FROM SOUTH BEND I couldn't get the price?
3rd $889 Edge juice with attitude up 120hp/350trq.
4th $679 Stage 3 inj from edge 100hp/200ft-lb trq.
5th $100 gauges.
6th $600 xaust.
I might put this stuff below on later What yall sugest?

Does this setup look right or do yall think i should us difern't products or anything diferent? If so what do yall thik I should do? Keeping I mind I would like to tow a car trailer sometims and have good reaction towing and when I'm not towing any help thanks?
Do yall think I should get the head O ringed and or have the higher performance studs and the High RPM springs put in?

the springs arent needed
i wouldnt bother with h20 injection
when you do the edge box, make sure they have it turned to a drag box
