Ok i have two brand new group 65 napa 1000CA batteries not even a month old, all new cable ends all clean connections, i have a brandnew starter(not on the truck) but i got a gear reduction starter from a member on here that i put on my truck to make sure it was good, well for a few days now its cranked so fast i could have drove to town on the starter, cranked fine yesterday morning i come home shut it off let it set for hours come back to fire it up and it cranks a whole lot slower! still fast enough to get it running but not as fast as it was, and not fast enough for me!

Could be the fender starter solenoid. The contacts in them start to transfer metal between the two parts. Then resistance builds up. Then slow cranking or the key turns to start and nothing happens for a few seconds. Then it builds heat and conplete contact if made. The truck starts...Just a swag on my part....:sly
