Before you run thst thing any more, pull the passenger side valve cover and inspect the rocker for #5. That thumping thru the intake is bad news.
Could be a broken rocker or worse yet, bent intake valves for that cylinder.

Turbo has 3 stuck vaines. Intake is full of black sticky crap. Egr valve was glued shut.

Valve covers are coming off. Gonna do new seals for injectors. Dummy plugs. And a few other things

Also the crap all over the egr is coating the inside of the intake. But no oil in turbo. Nice and tight.

Before you get to far into all this other stuff, I would Listen to what dog treat is telling you. He has been there done that!

Your truck looks like it has been babied. This is NOT good, as you have found out. I drive my 6.0 like I STOLE IT! Do not baby these engines. Good luck.

Hell. I drive um all that way. First I had a 83 6.9 then a 89 7.3. last was a 2000 7.3 6spd. Last to brake and first to go. I work them hard. I play even harder. That's why I decided to buy this truck. I know a 6.0 will smoke a 7.3

My 2005 6.0 has a delete kit that was on it when I bought it used. The guy who had it says the computer had to be reprogrammed by Ford to keep the computer from complaining. Not sure how true that is but I'm sure there are plenty of how-to's out there for egr delete. The delete kits are fairly cheap.

Ordered oil cooler kit. Egr delete kit. Glow plugs and harnesses. Intercooler pipe and intake elbow kit. It sensor.

Cleaned turbo. Ordered compression tester so will test that also.
