Seatbelt's always worked for me. All the big rig towing companies do it. Make sure you tie it good though lol I don't know about letting it steer itself, wouldn't wanna find out either
big-rigs are not flat-towed. they also have air supplied to keep the emergency brakes from engaging as well as many now use a "brake buddy" to assist in stopping the whole mess.

No need to supply air. Emergency brake will only engage the rear brakes, not the steers :)
