Ok here's the deal, I have an 85 f250 that had a 6.9 idi in it until it seized. I got my hands on a 7.3 idi (93 I think) and swapped it in. One of the last missing pieces and hopefully the last unforeseen challenge is the glow plug harness compatibility with the chassis harness.
In the pictures I have the 6.9 harness with gray 8 pin plug on the right and the 7.3 harness with the black 12 pin plug with the controller on the left.
Whats the best way to go about making the 7.3 harness hook into the chassis harness?
Also I am pretty sure the 6.9 isn't stock because its newer and there is an aftermarket dash push button for the glow plus instead of the turn key timer.

If you were happy with the way that the 6.9 worked, then why bother to switch wiring harnesses? Just put 6.9 glow plugs in and use the harness that was built for the truck. I've been doing that in my 85 F250 since 2015.

I'd get some new connectors and create my own harness connections. Something like a WeatherPak or Delphi or Deutsch connector. Just make sure the pins can handle whatever current you're throwing at it.

Here are diagrams for the 6.9 style. If you go to the tech section there are tons of manuals I posted, I believe one has electrical diagrams for a newer truck.

I find the other EVTM diagrams easier to read than the large ones you posted. Your "start and glowplug control" is part of the EVTM. Here is a link to the whole 1986 EVTM diagram set. There are a few that are diesel only, and the rest of them sometimes have notes with diesel differences.
