If you are using the stock gauge to see temperature, and it changes with the heater on/off its most likely electrical gremlins. Stock temp sensor is just a switch

I think it might me electrical gremlins Im installing aftermarket guages right now, which sensor do I remove to ellimante the temp guage?

The sender to get a true coolant reading is the small sender located just to the drivers side of the injection pump. Then a little farther over is the check engine lite sender in the drivers side head. What that does is peg the dash gauge when the coolant reaches 242 degrees. To test it just ground the wire and see what the dash gauge does. This can be done hot or cold engine too.

Ok I removed the sensor that is for the temp light, I drove home, the temp guage I installed showed 190 during the trip home while the factory guage varied during the trip.
Sounds like you got it, the temp gages are really just an indicator and if you start to trouble shoot cannot be trusted. As far as the fan clutch mine will not kick on until about 230 on my gage and that sounds about typical for a stock one. You can get aftermarket ones that come on sooner but if you are running steady at 190 I would call it good.

Mine does the same thing as far as the temp reading higher with the blower on. I know for sure its electrical problems because if I flip the fan speed switch too fast, it'll blow the fuse. I said to hell with it for now. Especially since the plastic around the blower fuse is sorta melted. Some idiot probably jumped it with a nail or something.

Seeing you went to Napa and bought the thermostat were you able to get the factory E5TZ-8575-C or did you get something else??? Nothing but the oem factory thermostat that opensat 192 degrees can or will flow enough coolant to keep these engines properly cool.

Gary I never did install the thermostat I got from NAPA but I did install the aftermarket guages, just to see what was really going on with my truck, come to find out it is either electrical gremlins or an air pocket in the cooling system so far.
