coolant temp sending unit

where is located at, sometime after driving for awhile the tmep guage will stop working and then start working. IM just curious where its at. i think i got aloose connection

Look just to the drivers side of the injection pump. Its the sender thats around 3/8 or 1/2 inch pipe threads. Look on the front of the drivers side head and you will find the over temp switch sender. All that large sender does is ground the gauge causing it to peg way past the L in normal...

Yeah, its the 3/8 NPT littler switch that threads into the block. The over temp switch is the bigger 1/2 NPT that threads into the head.
