The way I have done the coolant is this.... Big bucket probably 5 gallons. Two gallons of distilled water and two gallons of coolant. Then pour into radiator. Job made simple and easy. Do this till full and save the extra for later on. I usually fill the recovery tank with the extra coolant. These cooling systems take some time to purge out all the trapped air. I park the truck on a hill in my driveway. You can use blocks under the front wheels to get the front end up so more air is pushed out by the coolant. Some remove the heater hot line from the passenger head till coolant is there. I don't like trying to get to that hose clamp so I don't use this method. Mixing in a large bucket helps and you know what is in the radiator if thats how you add coolant. Some just pour in a gallon of coolant and then a gallon of water. It never is correct that way. Can't tell when the system is going to be full.
