The only thing I can think that you can do and have it work at all (but not right) is putting the clutch disk in backwards. When I took my truck apart, I figured the clutch was worn out based on the way it behaved the short time I drove it. Nope. Its basically brand new, but the disk was in backwards and it ground the rivits in the center section off against the flywheel bolts. Speaking of which, you put sealant on the crank bolts right? They will leak oil if you don't and could cause your problme if oil is getting on things.
