Can this be done in a 24 hour period?

Can the seals on the 7.3 oil cooler be swaped out properly in a day? Turning wrenches is nothing new to me but this is the first diesel I have ever owned this is why i ask. I read the tech article and it seems pretty straightforward but I want to hear from you guys experience with this and please tell me anything I need to do that might not have been mentioned in the tech article that makes it easier or helps with correct install.
Also if there are no oil leaks on the top side and there is only oil on the driver side of the motor then I'm assuming its the oil cooler from what I have read here on this forum. Its a slow leak and rarely gets on the ground just all over every thing bottom side. Valve covers seem leak free so I have come to the conclusion that its either the oil cooler or PS pump. I'm kind of in the dark cause the **** is every where and I can't pin point it.

It's not the P/S pump if it's oil. P/S pump carries (or SHOULD carry) ATF (red).

yes, first time doing it took about 5 hours total.

The bottle of power steering fluid actually 2 bottles different brands are kinda clear tan like clean oil. It does have to be toped off from time to time so the PS fluid is going some where.

i would replace PS feed and return line first,
oil cooler can be done in a matter of hours if yours is clean and clear of housing damage.
PS lines are far easier. and cheaper if you account the fluids you need to change with a oil cooler rebuild.

If you've done the job, you can have the cooler off in an hour, rebuilt in 30 and reinstalled in another hour. That includes removing the front driveshaft connection, ac pump, power steering pump, associated brackets belts and the steering shaft. If you e never done it and you're taking your time.. It will take about 5-6 hours.

Oh and when I did mine I pressure washed the sides and bottom of the engine including the axles etc. it's an awful messy job... I hated how messy I got. I had to take a shower with dawn dish soap.. But cleaning the engine up will allow you to pin point leaks/ drips later. Especially if you throw a quick coating of high temp silver paint on the oil cooler tube itself.

Just do not paint the sealing surface or else it will bite ya.

It's been over a year and no problems...

Yep, just verified that, on Nov 16, 2013, I did paint the machined surfaces on the block side, but not on the header side...

That's the first time I've ever heard of that...
