Well I've found this pump that has numbers DB2-4814, ZKK991723. Which is a manual shut off pump. Can I use this pump on my 6.9? I can get it cheaper than getting one from MWFI, and this one's rebuilt from Stanadyne.
Can I swap my current electronic shut off over to this pump?

I don't know what cheaper is but you can get a reman from International for your engine (they have a book with all the Ford IP info) for under $400. Not necessarily cheap I understand but about $200 less than the dealer and $300 less than Napa. Most rebuilders are charging at least $400.

And like h20drx asked how is it a manual shutoff? Curious.

I am not exactly sure, its got a lever on the drivers side of the pump instead of the little black electronic box. But Im not sure if the internals of the pump are actually different though. Thats what Im hoping you guys can help me out with.

I mean if its as simple as pulling the module off my pump, pulling the lever off that pump, and swapping them then Im all for it. But if I have to pull that pump appart, nope, not gonna mess with that. Cus I believe that shut off controls the governor.

The reason Im so interested in it is the guy said I could have it for $200, and its a factory Stanadyne reman pump.

looks to me like the whole head cover would have to be changed. I dont know if its worth it. I dont know if I want to mess with that stuff or not. Cus I got looking at a 7.3 pump we have here, and I guess there is no module outside the pump, its all actually inside the head. It doesnt have a cold start module either.

I didn't know that ant of the IH pumps didn't have a fuel shutoff solenoid. I'm confused from your description but it sounds like you'd need to swap over the governor cover from the Ford pump. Thats no big deal as long as you don't bend or jam the linkage. If you have a slight spring action from the linkage before you tighten any bolts and an audible click from the FSS solenoid when you apply and remove power that should mean you have it. Still after having a6.9 runaway on me after doing some of that kind of work I'd want a big heavy hardbound book, a smooth clipboard or a clean square of plywood to clap over the intake in case it tries to take off uncontrollably. I thought the only diffrerence between the IH and Ford DB2 pumps was the IH pumps are governed at around 2800-3000 instead of the 3350-3500 range as in a Ford. In my truck, back when I had 4.10s, it limited me out WOT at 71mph versus around 82-83mph with a healthy Ford pump.

If money is an issue, you could easily rig the manual shutoff pump. All you'd need is one of those cheap universal choke cable kits and route it into the cab, and to top it off, you'd have one less electric item to make your truck not start.

The IH pump will work, but as stated the governed RPM will be lower.
