I am sure it would fit with some modifying. You would have to measure the cab mount bolt patten

Why? Throw a dent side on it!

You'd probably have better luck finding a dent side cab than I am right now trying to find an 80-86 cab......

Swapping in the axle will be MUCH easier than trying to do a cab swap. The 80+ frame is about 4" wider than the 79 and older one, meaning you'd have to pretty much custom fab all of your mounts.
The axle will just be spring perches assuming you're talking leaf sprung, much easier in comparison, even if it's a F150 coil setup, it's pretty straightforward to adapt.

thanx for the info, ill try the axle swap first. and would it be worth my time to do a shackle reversal at the same time?

If you're going from 2wd to 4wd then YES, that would make your life so much easier.

Even if the truck is already 4wd an RSK would be a good idea.
