Brake "thingamajiggy" at rear axle????

This thread has drifted from the OP's question. His (and my) '86 does not have ABS as we are accustom to. The valve he speaks of simply has a way to reduce the fluid pressure to the rear brakes when the springs are not depressed by a load. There is no skid sensing.

Your right Jim. I think the reason it drifted is because it was adaquately answered earlier on.

You would have the arm all the way up. I'd really suggest removing it though.

I did as Mel said, removed all the linkage including the lever on the valve. With a pair of pliers rotate the shaft all the way in the direction the lever would go if you were loaded heavy - lever up.

The only down side to doing this is the possibility of sliding the rear tires while making hard braking with no load. The rear tires will skid well before you are getting maximum braking from the fronts. Not a issue for me as I am always heavy.
