Bought a new truck, cant get it started. No fuel coming out of the injection pump.

Just a thought and I apologize if this has already been covered
But looking at a diagram of the gear train there are 2 timing marks on the middle gear, one for the crank and one for the pump.
You could be 180 degrees out if you aligned to the wrong one.

Did you try advancing the IP any more before tearing the housing off?

I tried. I was able to get a little more advance out of it and it seemed even closer to starting. The passenger injector lines (only connected at the IP) and throttle bracket were still attached so I was limited on how much i could get. I think ill remove those to get even more and see how it goes.

Could gummed up injectors keep it from starting? I might just pull them and pop test them anyways to cover my bases. Being that the "new" IP had a stuck delivery valve and still probably has stuck plungers i wonder if the injectors are gummed up stuck. That pump had some nasty buildup in the transfer pump and screen. Probably algae growth. Ill be emptying the tanks and getting some fresh fuel in there too.

If you break loose both ends of the injector lines that you can get to, then adjust the i.p. where you need to be for timing.... you can tighten it up and pull the entire thing to adj those bottom ones you can't get to when it's mounted.
Huge pita but seeing how your working with unknown parts (as I recall) at least this will get you closer for timing.
If you're working on an unknown system then you really don't have any way to know what is not working.
A "new reman" pump should have had some sort of asymbley lube in it, curing the stuck you mentioned from happening.

Do 1 thing at a time, test, move forward, test ect...

Open the fuel tanks, preferably not full!
Run LOW pressure air backward behind the mechanical pump NOT thru it.
Switch the fsv and do both sides.
Just don't belch fuel on the floor...
This could clear out an obstruction...

I got it started!!! So relieved. Now I can move it and not have to worry about it being towed by my apartment complex management.
So after reverifying that the timing was correct I decided to next pull the injectors and pop test them. I wondered if maybe some of them were gummed up and stuck since the other injection pump was gummed up. Figured I could clean them and at least rule them out as being good/bad. Injectors were good so I reinstalled them and serviced the injector return lines.
To get it fired up I manually cycled the glow plugs and cranked it from the fender. After several cycles of this it kept getting better and better. I gave it a kiss of ether while cranking and it turned over on its own. I feel like if I had kept doing this before pulling the injectors I probably could have gotten it started sooner. Oh well.
It now starts easy on its own. Now I just have to do all of the fluids and finish putting everything i took off back on.
