I had a set of the yellow Monroe Gas Magnums on my truck. The passenger side front shock self-destructed ~3k miles after installation, broken weld and zero shock absorption. I replaced the entire set just a few months ago with new Bilstein's (upside-down in the front, I gotta do
something wrong), and so far I'm liking them way more than I ever liked the Monroe's. I can't speak for longevity yet, but they seem to ride a bit firmer than the Monroe's and the truck feels more stable during turns than before, though that could just be the difference between having 3 shocks vs 4
The Monroe shocks usually have a lifetime warranty though, plus they're cheap and available everywhere; the Bilstein's I had to order via Summit Racing, most local parts stores want in the neighborhood of $90-$100 per shock (if they even carry them / have them in stock) + the usual sales tax. The Monroe shocks do work, but I always had the impression with them that they were just designed to fit our trucks, not to take abuse from a heavy diesel engine with an idiot driver.
