I used to just throw a mattress in the bed and a canopy on top. Worked great for me for years. Then I got married, then had kids. Now I have a big 'ol 5er I camp in.

I would just buy an older camp trailer. Make sure to read up on what to look for when buying anr RV, they can turn into a money pit if you're not careful.
