way to much for a technically used converter. save your troubles and buy a new one that is custom tailored to your needs from racerX for the same price or a touch more.

Its never been installed. Are you talking shelf life? Also where would you get a HD flexplate for a idi?

judging by the orange paint, I'd lay odds Banks didn't rebuild that torque convertor. That is a "Transstar" color paint. my cost on that unit is $275 for a billet shell triple plate clutch unit.

That paint looks red to me. I can see the banks sticker too. Could be a transtar converter China rip off. Dude says its a 4bolt

from looking on Banks' site they use a dark red paint and the impeller side is unpainted billet.I agree with towcat, that looks like transstar orange. even looks like the studs are either masked off or have over spray on them. both of which would NOT be factory.

I see what your saying. The sticker is crooked. The billet half looked like a different shade of red.

Nobody makes a heavy duty flexplate for our engines. Sad but true. The triple disc converter in my BTS E4OD is so big I couldn't use my oem heavy cast iron flexplate so I bought their flexplate... You know I was going to try putting thier converter on my plate... Nope, it did not fit. That converter pictured probably had a nut on that stud when it was painted. Thats why there is no paint on the threads. Banks would seem to have more class and pridethan to place their name sticker on anything cockeyed like this is...

If it was a true Banks converter, I would say yes.
Banks is usually neat about their products. They should be for what they charge.
The sloppy paint and sticker could be fake or it could be used with a touch up.
Buying this part or any converter, you should look at it before you buy it.
If you can't see it in person count it as a"technically used converter".
