Bad white smoke

i put a new to me ip on my truck this weekend and it runs fine and starts great but when i get on the throttlei get a huge puff of white smoke for a bout 10 minutes until it warms up. i didnt replace the injectiors and i timed it by ear. what could it be??

get it timed professionally. Do that or lose a motor from the rings getting washed down.

guess what? i found the timing marks its all good

the marks don't really mean much of anything other than for that pump. If you install a new or different pump then you need to get it timed again. What they should do is file off the old marks and stamp new ones. So you should get it timed here before too long.
