Zach,

So if I'm reading you correctly, ATS will no longer be carrying any products for the IDI other than maybe the trans command for the E4OD? If that's the case, it's a shame! There's still alot of these old engines getting jobs done everyday, but I guess that wasn't your decision to make. I do appreciate you getting on here and clearing some things up though!

Ya, sorry about that. Thanks for the second chance.

Unfortunately that is being discontinued. I will be taking that part off the website today as well. And the new catalog does not have any IDI stuff in it.

We would absolutely work on them though

The next question then: Is anyone buying the design and rights to build and sell the idi parts that you used to sell? Many of us have ats systems on our trucks and would like to have a source for replacement parts. First and foremost would be that valley pan grommet that's getting rather hard to find.

thanks for being honest. I do have a question on supply of the soft parts on products currently in the field. do you have inventory left on the o-rings, drainback grommets, cdr adapter and other misc. parts?

I'd like to second towcat's question/request...there are a number of us here who are running older ATS kits (for example, I currently have an 088 kit on my truck) and are having problems finding soft parts for these kits. This is especially a problem for people who are finding used kits in wrecking yards, etc.

I think that continuing to provide soft parts would go a long way towards keeping a small but loyal group happy. I think that much of the frustration over ATS (and Banks, for that matter) has been directly related to the perceived lack of support for products...

FWIW...by the way, thank you for speaking up ;Sweet

This isn't going to work, everyone on this forum are rabid Justin Beiber fans. But glad to know you guys are indeed up and running and welcome aboard from a fellow newbie.

I thought it smelled like flowers in here :sly

Thanks!

That is perfect haha

Ya, we can still do trannies for you, but not motor stuff.

The reason we stopped is because the company we used to machine the parts went out of business. While they went out of business, they took all their tooling with them. Im not sure why they wouldnt sell it to us, but they wouldnt. That is what I was told. So basically we would be stuck making the tooling. That would have been deep in the 10's of thousands. Unfortunately the hard truth here, is it just wouldnt be profitable to make the investment when the dollars and intellect could be put to work elsewhere (i.e. keeping up with current technology). No reason to lie or hide anything...

The next question then: Is anyone buying the design and rights to build and sell the idi parts that you used to sell? I dont think that anyone is going to end up with the tooling. For all I know, its sitting in someones yard making a nice bird feeder. I would call in and ask for patrick if you need any parts...he is good with the IDI's.

We do actually still have some of that stuff.

We do still have some of that stuff. Best bet is to call a sales guy. Patrick is really good with the IDI stuff and would be happy to help you.

I would imagine that most of the o-rings can simply be ordered from mcmaster carr or the like. I have not seen anything like the intake hat rubber washer, or the pedestal grommet. Which sucks since those are the two that I need.

I am running RTV on the intake hat at the moment ;Sweet and the pedestal grommet will most likely survive the next time the turbo comes off....

I would have to dig up the info but I was able to use a standard trade size ?? O-ring for my intake hat to manifold connection. It's been 4 years since I figured out the size so I don't remember off hand exactly. Not much help I know but just wanted to let you know it's possible.

And my past experience with ATS was good. Ordered parts no problem, shipped and recieved no problem.

did you order from ATS??

Nope I have a great O ring source. Just cant find anyone to make the drain grommet yet. Everyone wants to run several hundred. Which is ok, But I think ATS should give up their supplier for those 2 items, grommets and hat to manifold seal, and let Oilburners market them.;Sweet

Weird I was actually going to call ATS today. I was tinkering with my IDI today and noticed my ATS CDR tube for the 088 kit is cracked and spewing black crap all over my valve cover--time for a new one LOL

Welcome! Its great to hear we now have an ATS representative as a member here ;Sweet Hopefully the word will get around and spark a new interest in the old diesels. I really wanted to see the Aurora 3000/IDI kit come to life that I saw advertised in Diesel Power for a few months
