I need a dump truck and have been looking at just putting an insert dump bed in my f-250. Does anyone have experience with these units?
I really like the look of this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0585915616&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I have also looked at Bri-Mar,http://www.trailerenterprises.com/BriMarDumpInsertBrochure.pdf
and meyer http://www.meyerproducts.com/InsertDumpBed.aspx

What do you guys think? I am also looking at flatbed f-350s and 450s, but I need an extended cab and 4x4 and already have that in my current truck.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has used these dump kits.
I also looked at the conversion kits to use your existing bed as a dump bed, but I know the bed was not meant to lift like that and I can't imagine the welds would hold up to alot of use.

I have an insert in my bed it works great for me was an easy install and works great. it is now 3 years old and is holding up well. I use mine in the tree business for chips and wood hauling from the job site. Mine is the Easy Dump Brand and is good for 6000 lbs. This one is metal.;Sweet

A guy I know had a easy dump also. It worked well for hauling firewood and other misc stuff, but one thing you will find out, it's tempting and very easy to overload the truck. You have to be careful with it. A full load of dirt is too much for the truck, even though the dump will lift and dump it.

He sold it and graduated to a 89 f350 chassis/cab with an official dump body on it. Same drivetrain with the idi and the 5 speed, but lots more springs in the back and the frame is doubled up top and bottom from the factory. We lucked out and got a 4x4 also, yes they are a little hard to find.

They work quite well. My brother has one in his 94 F250. We overload it all the time but it will pickup what ever you put in it

Has anyone ever seen the z-dump? They are half off now, but I am a little leary to have a dump bed shipped from reno sight unseen.

Find a dealer that is close to you so you dont get killed on shipping. Or keep your eyes open on craigs list or the like for a used one

These guys seem to have gone out of business. Their website is no longer there and there is a guy on ebay selling new old stock at half price.
This is the ad:

Apparently they were made by a company called illuZun Products, LLC.
I can't find anything current about them on the web.

I took a look at the link above. I will warn you, that is nothing like a easy dump. It all depends I guess on how you are going to use it.

If you are going to use it for a business, I don't believe the above unit is going to protect your truck enough. The above ad glorifies how this dump bed "stays hidden" when it's down. The easy dump we had went up and over the side bed rails, protecting them when loading. It also had a full steel front that went all the way up the rear cab wall and over top of about half the top of the cab. I see all the exposed rear glass in the above ebay picture, and that to me is a recipe for disaster.
