Well i took the scout out to All Truck Nationals, did about 70mph all the way down, got there and met up with tom (88beast) and mel, then ran into dieselcrawler. I had mel set the timing on my i/p. he checked it and it was at 4 degrees, yeah i just got it "close". he set it to almost 9 degrees and turned down the idle, and immediately shut up every rattle in the dash! :rotflmao i bs'd with mel a little then it was off to the dyno! i had a parade going over, and as they backed it on (not me in the scout btw...) it had quite a crowd gather, showed up them cummins guys! LOL once he laid into it and the pipes barked and the smoke bellowed you could hear the jaws drop (kinda, it was loud)! well, ya ready??? 127RW-HP, and 245RW-FT LBs. yeah i expected higher but its great for what i do with it! ;Sweet my favorite is the torque peaks out at 1300 rpm! ;Sweet the ride home it as alot snappier! the egts were about 350 degrees lower on average and it took less pedal to keep it at 70, almost effortless!!! :D i strongly recommend getting your trucks times right! thanks Mel, it was great seeing everyone!!

no turbo, that's what lays the power down. i figure i can put it in low range first, idle over anything, put it in low range third and throw mud as high as you can see, for what i do it's great all on 37" rubber!

now it it timed it effortlessly spins the tires first and second, i don't know many trucks to do that on 37's! LOL :peelout

-Jon

not many do ive only got 265s im hoping to get mine timed this week only one person around here has a meter to do it right and he charges 75 per hour he said takes about an hour?? :dunno i hope it helps it!! i know im not gonna throw down power like a psd but i wanna get some torque out of this thing! hp dont reallly matter to me as long as i got torque! you know any ways to easily get torque?

good timing and a moose pump? :dunno nothing specific, make sure everything is in good working order.

-Jon

how would a moose pump perform on a n/a motor with nothing much done to it? if i go that route i might go on and get a type4 cam and bb codes?? that would be well over 1k would it be worth it?

The lack of a turbo is why the truck is a little low on power. I bet it's perfectly fine in a scout. The Moose Pump probably isn't helping any without the turbo. That is right where I would expect a stock N/A IDI that was healthy to dyno at. Ford/IH rated the 6.9 at 175 HP at the flywheel. On average we lose 30-33% through the drivetrain. My math says that 33% of 175 is 57.75 so if we assume average parasitic losses(127+57)=184 or 1.33*(127)= 169, so Jon's truck is either a bit higher or a bit lower than Ford rated them, no more than a rounding error. It's one stout Scout :)
