A guy is selling the factory airbox of his 08 6.4 ford for $50, with low mileage air filter.

I know it'll filter better, but will it flow enough for my 7.3?
Right now it's mostly stock, but looking to do injectors in the fairly soon future.
I want an ais, just can't find one cheap enough.

Why not just do a 6637? It'll cost you about $50-60.

Lol that's what I have, but I want better filtration.
And did I post in the wrong section? This is my 94 Powerstroke. :dunno

Jasper,

Not sure on the 6.4 stock air filter, but I know the stocker on a 6.0 is good for something like 450-500HP before it becomes too restricting, and stock a 6.0 is 325hp. A 6.4 is 400hp stock, so I think it should be more big enough for an IDI. Also, if the filter itself is similar (They have different part numbers, but not sure of the construction) the Donaldson Powercore filter element the 6.0 uses holds over 3 POUNDS of dirt before it is considered dirty enough to replace. They last a long time in a street driven truck....... but the replacement filter is not cheap.......

It uses the fa1886.
I can't find much info on it, but pretty sure it's a Donaldson powercore also.

The filter price is about equal to my 6637.
