Can somebody please tell me how to elegantly access the fuel tank selector switch on a 95, mine works but has become loose so it is difficult to operate. I hate those dashboard things...

You have to pull the dash cluster bezel. Take a screw driver, pop off those silver trim pieces, they just pop out dont be afraid. Then there's some mounting screws for the panel behind those trim pieces. When you pull the panel the switch will be mounted to it.

OK, thanks. My problem is the switch has become dismounted from the panel. So I need to pull it to remount it. It wasn't clear to me what would happen to the light switch, etc. Now I see it remains attached,I guess.

you may be looking at reaplacing the plastic where the switch mounts to.
As much as I like OBS styling, their interiors have achieved Mopar noteriety in falling apart. the mounts to where the switch goes desintergrates with age.

Hey Cal,

Is that selector in one of the Tow Trucks? Or is it in the 450 rollback...... if it was in the rollback, I figure the stiff springs helped to jar it loose.....

Please enlighten me.

I figure a "bricknose" is a 1980-1986 cab; am I right ??

Now, what is an "OBS" ??

As for the fuel-tank selector lever, the one on my 1985 appears to be a much superior design to the later version pictured; of course, mine hasn't actually had any purpose for more than twenty years. ;Really

Midnight,

80-86: Slant Nose with the miter at the headlights
87-91: Brick Nose completely flat across the front with the big, rectangular headlights.
92-97: OBS (Original Body Style or Old Body Style), the rounded nose that was the original body style that has the PSD....

Scott

BTW - The Slant Nose is my favorite of those body styles, a 79 is my favorite!!

Thank you, sir.

The 1972 is my favorite; the 80-86 is my second favorite.

In my opinion, the dash lay-out of the 80-86 is a lot classier than that on any of the later trucks. ;Really

It doesn't seem quite right that OBS (Original Body Style or Old Body Style) is actually newer than my 1988.

But I gotta admit, "Bricknose" is a pretty good description of mine.

OK I did it. My bezel is toast in many places, cracked and chipped where ever a screw touches it. Is it easy to find a replacement?
