A/C

I have a 2001 cummins when i start it in the morning the a/c compressor cycles on and off. I'm assuming that it helps but i don't know why it dose it. Also i find that it constintly dose this even after the truck has warmed up the a/c compressor continues to run. The defrost is off and the climate controls are off and it still dose this. Is this a common problem or is it just natural that it dose this.

on yer control panel any time you have selected a duel function the compressor will be in use..and ofcourse AC and defrost function

so if memory serves me here the compressor wont run when you have selected the floor option only ...........seams there is another but I would hafta go look at the switch to confirm

From what I remember...

MAX A/C, A/C, Bi-Level, Floor-DEF, and DEF will run the compressor.

All other positions should be without the A/C compressor running...
