I was thinking 3 men on each side and lift it. I have done the 8 ft box on my 1987 with 3 men. Just trying to get an idea on what ill need.

The front of the cab will be really heavy. Don't ask how I learned that.

6 guys seems like it should do it but not sure. I was amazed at how heavy those cabs are.

Laser jock. Thanks for the link to the hitch. It looks like it sits about the same as my current hitch. I think I'm going to go the extender route but make sure I can bolt it to the bumper. I have an enclosed trailer that can be 14k by itself so I want to make sure my hitch is solid.

Thanks
Jeremy

Had a big progress weekend. Got the last of the parts painted the copper color. I Painted the bed, tail gate, mirrors and gas doors. Overall painting turned out pretty good. I used my new supplied air breathing system for the first time. I think the extra hose stirred up some more dust than normal, but nothing too extreme. Tailgate was the worst for dust since it was flat. Don't worry about the inside of the bed. It's going to get line-x I think. Maybe raptor, but Line-x I can pay to have done and they can color match.

I sanded and buffed out the mirrors, gas doors and tailgate. Buffing went well. I pulled a lot of the orange peel out, but not all. I'm not against orange peel but wanted it to be less. I also had to get some dust heads off.

I was going to pull the truck back in the shop, but my steering column crapped out. I hadn't rebuilt it yet and the key tumbler broke. So the steering column was removed and hauled to the heated shop to be ripped apart and rebuilt. Whats the good steering column grease?

Thanks
Jeremy

Got the bed on the back of the truck. I had bought new factory bolts and nuts for the bed off of ebay. The nuts were a locknut. I'm going to replace them with regular nuts and lock washers. Also got the tail gate installed. Tail gate fit real nice. I ordered new holding straps for it and new plastic bushings for the tailgate pivot cups. The aluminum piece on the tail gate had latex paint on it by the FORD. I cleaned 90% of it off with a clay bar. There is still some white streaks the clay bar didn't seem to be removing. It was good enough for reassembly. I'll have to touch that up later on. Maybe a light buffing would take it out.

Ok I took a break to repaint a VW karmann Ghia for a while and let funds rebuild. I'm ready to spend some more money and time on the old girl now.

I took my Ranchhand Front bumper, rear bumer, and side steps to have the powder coat burned off them. Should have them back in a few weeks. Then I'm getting them Linexed in the bottom color once I get it two-toned.

I also picked up the set of Bushwacker Street flares for it. They will also be the bottom two-tone color. Once they come in I'm planning to buff it up and two-tone the bottom. I want to cut & buff before I paint the two-tone incase I mess up and need to re paint something.

I also grabbed new belt line mouldings for the rear doors. They are straight from ford and 80 bucks a piece.

I'm also about ready to order the leather seats and carpet, but thought I'd get the exterior a touch further before I get going full bore on the interior.

Got the bumpers and running boards back from the Powdercoater. I didn't get them powder coated, but had the powder coated burned off and then had them sand blasted. I'm going to prime them, then shoot them with tinted bed liner. I've never shot bed liner before, but don't expect any issues.

Got bed liner on the bumpers and running board tonight. I used U-pol tintable bed liner. I've never sprayed bed liner before. It seemed to go pretty good. Biggest issue was all the nooks and crannies on the front bumper. This color is called Arizona beige, but I've never thought it looked very beige. Always looks silver to me.

junk,

Bumper looks good!!! The color reminds me of the "Eddie Bauer Stripe" color on all Ford's that with the Eddie Bauer package have along the rocker panels. Has been a similar color since the 80's.
